CHOGM Business Forum 2015 - B-AS Delegation

CHOGM Business Forum 2015 – B-AS Delegation

24th November 2015 to 26th November 2015
8:22am to 8:22am

The Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF) adjoins the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and is the major business event in the Commonwealth calendar. The forum convenes Heads of Government, senior ministers, government delegates and the private sector in one place to discuss business opportunities and policy making. The event is usually attended by approximately 15-20 Heads of Government in addition to approximately 1,200 business leaders from all across the Commonwealth.

The organisers have invited The Britain-Australia Society to organise a private sector delegation for CBF 2015. The delegate fee for the forum includes registration, access to all sessions, one to one meetings, networking breaks, hosted lunches, receptions, and gala dinner hosted by the Prime Minister of Malta. We have been offered a discounted attendance fee of €800 per delegate (usually €1,500!) if you book before 30 September 2015.

CBF 2015 is being co-organised by the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) and the Government of Malta and is designed to provide a space for high level dialogue between business and Government leaders from the Commonwealth and beyond. An important aim is to develop stronger partnerships between Governments and business to ensure that the Commonwealth plays its part in promoting sustainable growth across the world.

Lord Marland, who heads the CWEIC, will also be speaking to us at a BAS event on November 4th.

The CBF will have industry, regional and country specific sessions that will be led by business leaders on key topics in those sectors. We expect the attendance of a number of Heads of Government from the Caribbean, Africa and Asia, along with government delegations. Britain and Malta are the only European members of the Commonwealth so the 2015 conference is a great opportunity for those based in Europe to participate. Britain and Australia are both participating in the conference.

Please note that our Chairman, Peter Benson, is well-placed to offer assistance and advice on travel and accommodation in Malta. Mr Benson is participating within the B-AS delegation.

NB: if you are a non-EU passport holder then it may take up to a month to obtain a Schengen visa. We advise you to register quickly as the whole registration process is likely to take up up to a month from application.
