Ever Wanted to Drive Sheep Across London Bridge?

Ever Wanted to Drive Sheep Across London Bridge?

5th April 2017

Ballot Closing Date:  Wednesday 5 April 2017

On Sunday 24 September 2017, Britain-Australia Society members will have the opportunity to drive sheep across part of London Bridge.

Our Chairman, Peter Benson OAM was made a Freeman of the City of London in July 2016.   As a Freeman of the City of London Peter has the unique privilege of being able to run sheep across London Bridge.

Each year the Worshipful Company of Woolmen organise a day where Freeman are able to run sheep across all or part of London Bridge.  The funds they raise aid the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and the Woolmen’s Charitable Trust.

Mary Berry CBE will open the 2017 sheep drive across London Bridge and the wool fair on Sunday 24th September.

Peter Benson has been able to secure the Britain-Australia Society a few places for members to drive sheep across part of London Bridge on Sunday 24 September 2017 at 10:37am and 10:44am.

As we have access to a few places we will be balloting to members only.  The entire £50 donation entry will be passed onto the Sheep Drive’s charities.

How to enter the ballot:

  • You must be a financial member of the Society to enter
  • Email the Executive Secretary via this link with your entry

Closing Date:       Wednesday 5 April 2017.     We know this is early but we have to commit to the entries by the end of April or lose the places.
