On Wednesday 4 November 2015 the Britain-Australia Society in-conjunction with the Australian High Commission and the London Business School’s Australia and New Zealand Club will be hosting a talk and cocktail reception in the Downer Room of the Australian High Commission.
Guest speaker is Lord Marland, Chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council.

About the Council
The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council was established in July 2014 with the support of the Commonwealth Secretariat. The CWEIC is a not-for-profit membership company with a mandate to facilitate increased trade and investment across the Commonwealth by:
helping Commonwealth Governments attract investment, promote enterprise and improve the business environment.
working with member companies to expand their businesses and to help with new investments in any Commonwealth country.
About Lord Marland
A founding director of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc, Jonathan Marland is a noted British businessman and entrepreneur. His career posts have included as the former Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy, Minister for Energy and Climate Change and Business, Innovation and Skills and Treasurer of the Conservative Party. He was awarded a life peerage on 8 June 2006 as Baron Marland and is a member of the Privy Council.
Lord Marland is the Chairman of The Churchill Centre UK and of Tickets for Troops. He is a Trustee of The Guggenheim UK Charitable Trust and Atlantic Partnership, President of The Commonwealth Youth Orchestra and Choir, a Patron of Salisbury and South Wiltshire Cricket and Hockey Club, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and is a member of the MCC.
In 2014 he became Chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council
