Sidney Nolan Symposium at the RA

Held on the centenary of the seminal Australian painter’s birth, join the RA as it celebrates the life and work of Sidney Nolan RA.
Over a day of discussion and debate, there will be an exploration of contemporary and universal themes including the notion of a global artist with international perspectives; the artist as a polymath with expertise and practices across different media and methods; and materiality within the artistic process, including the experimentation and innovation for which Nolan was known.
The day will include a morning private view of the exhibition in Australia House,Unseen: Works from the Sidney Nolan Trust Collection; a special display of Nolan’s self portraits from the RA Collection, and will be followed by a drinks reception.
