The South Australian Reform Club Dinner

29th June 2015
7:00pm to 10:30pm

Guest speaker

The Premier of South Australia

The dinner is an important annual event in the Britain-Australia Society calendar recognising the formative role role that Reform Club members played in the establishment and settlement of South Australia in 1836.

The Premier will be speaking on the development of South Australia and the increasing opportunities which are opening up as the State pursues its ambitious economic development programme.

The Hon Jay Weatherill MP is South Australia’s 45th Premier and assumed office on 21 October 2011. He has previously held a range of senior Cabinet portfolios including Treasury, Education, Early Childhood Development, Environment & Conservation, Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation, Minister Assisting the Premier in Cabinet Business and Public Sector Management, Families & Communities, Housing, Ageing, Disability, Urban Development and Planning, Administrative Services, Local Government and Gambling.

Join us at the Reform Club for drinks at 7:00pm followed by dinner at 7:30pm.

The Reform Club in Pall Mall is one of the finest Victorian buildings in the country, a palatial masterpiece by Sir Charles Barry that has remained largely unchanged since it was completed in 1841. The stately Portland Stone exterior leads to the grandeur of the highly ornamental interior. It is one of the iconic “Gentleman’s Clubs” of London and we are privileged to be able to visit on this occasion.
