    Upcoming Events

    Published 11th February

The calendar for 2013 is filling with some terrific events!

Some of the highlights are :

    * The Phillip Memorial Service and Lunch attended by the Great and Good of the Diplomatic and Livery communities

    * A very special reception at the Reform Club to celebrate the surprising story of the club’s involvement in the founding of South Australia

    * The new High Commissioner has graciously invited us to a garden party at his sumptuous home

    * A sneaky after-hours visit to the Tower of London for a tour, supper in the Warder’s private club and the ceremony of the keys

    * Dinner in the Long Room? Of course! And with a special tribute to Sir Don Bradman – check the event page!

    * A formal dinner in Bristol on a magnificent ship built by Brunel will raise money for a tribute to Arthur Phillip RN

    * Our legal friends at Norton Rose have again invited us to sample their hospitality (and views!)

    * Thanks to our Buckinghamshire connections we will visit the sumptuous apartments of the Speaker of the House (they make Hogwarts look minimalist!)

There are also tastings of fantastic Western Australian wines here and here, invitations to the BADA Antiques fair, and a commemoration of Blue Mountains explorers.

Not forgetting the “Shires”  – our branches have active programmes of their own, with the Suffolk Branch AGM coming up on February 27th, once again followed by an exceptional dinner at the excellent local catering college.

The dates for all these are fixed – keep an eye on the website and newsletter for when the tickets will be released.

It’s shaping up to be a great year and we look forward to meeting many of you over a glass or two.
