200 years since the death of Bligh

200 years since the death of Bligh

Published 7th December

William Bligh FRS was, in addition to being Captain of the Bounty, the 4th Governor of New South Wales.

He has been maligned by history several times – though courts in each case proved him correct. He ended up as a Vice-Admiral of the Blue. Let’s just say he was a bit of a stickler for the rules.

Why not pop over to the Garden Museum today? Bligh’s tomb is there, and today is the 200th anniversary of his death.
