Norfolk Branch AGM

Norfolk Branch AGM

Published 6th December

November 30th 2017

The committee decided on a change of venue this year and chose the Britannia Cafe Restaurant at The Guildhall in the centre of Norwich.

An appropriate choice, since the restaurant has been converted from the old Norwich court house, from where many convicts were committed for transportation in the 19th century !

Following a short AGM, taken by committee member Jane Colman, nearly 50 members and guests were wonderfully entertained with a full Christmas Dinner, delicious puddings and excellent wines. During the meal, committee member Simone Sisterson entertained all of us. It is now run by inmates of the the prison and is their second managed restaurant in the centre of Norwich, following on from their first hugely successful venture nearer the prison.

The members listened attentively to a lively quiz with the questions asked from the original judge’s throne overlooking the guests.

With many events planned for 2018 and a growing membership, the Norfolk Branch of the Society is in good health.
